‘This is a man’s world’ as James Brown often said, but more aptly in the world of business this is a straight white man’s world. 72% of senior executives in Fortune 500 companies are white men, however in countries such as the U.S white men are only 31% of the population.
A study by Boston Consulting Group (BCG) concluded that more diverse management teams had almost 20% higher revenue than those without this diversity. This means that without diversity you’re not only missing out on creating a nice environment for all to succeed in, you’re also missing out on success.
It is clear that there are some who want to do better, but they are afraid of saying the wrong thing or confused by new terminology. Thankfully this judgement-free guide is a great place to start learning and provides a great platform to do better.

Suki Sandhu OBE is the Founder and CEO of Audeliss and INvolve, two globally recognised consultancy firms that champion diversity and inclusion in business. He is a Patron for akt, Board Director of OutRight Action International in New York and leads a fund via GiveOut to financially support LGBT+ activists in Asia.
Gemma Charles is a specialist in sustainability, political marketing and the alcoholic beverage sector.
Previously she reported on the food and alcohol sectors, joining the magazine after a spell of freelancing at various titles. She has also held staff reporting roles on Marketing Week, The Lawyer and Inside Housing, the social housing journal, where she started her journalistic career a decade ago.
